Well of course the veggies aren’t an afterthought at the VeggieGrill restaurant. I’ve had probably 200+ Banh Mi in my life. I can’t think of a time when I’ve ever had a better pile of veggies on my Banh Mi then the Glazed Tofu Banh Mi at VeggieGrill.
The sauce was great too, not just the glaze, but there were other flavors sneaking around this sandwich. I was eating with others so I didn’t have the heart to perform foodie surgery on the thing, but it really was wonderful. About the only thing I didn’t love was the bread. They really should serve this on a warm crunch baguette, but if they can’t do that, the least they could do is toast or grill the bread first. Then it would be a vegan 10. Next time, I drive over to the VeggieGrill I’m going to ask if they’ll toast/grill the bread.
