Pulled Pork Torta at Pig and Parsley: FV

Torta

Remember when you were a kid and you ate so much you thought you would die? Remember how you promised yourself you’d never eat that much again, then you did? When I get the Pulled Pork Torta at Pig and Parsley I tell myself to only eat half the sandwich. I try and remember how full I got last time. Then three bites in and I know I’m F’ed. I just keep biting and chewing and moaning and before you know it- I’m making promises again.

I don’t know if it’s the hand-smoked pork. I don’t know if it’s the fact that the owner has worked at some great restaurants including one of my personal favorites, Alan Greeley’s The Golden Truffle. Maybe it’s the made-from-scratch pickled veggies, onions, and peppers.

All I know is that all of the sandwiches I’ve tried at this little, more than a sandwich shop, are some of the best I’ve ever had. Heck Pig and Parsley’s homemade bratwurst, tasted like the best breakfast sausage anyone has ever had. Everything here, except the bread is made by the owner and you can see the care, love, and attention to detail.
